It's a Girl's World

I posted this yesterday, but somehow it was mysteriously deleted.

By now you know of my love for all things Sis Boom by Jennifer Paganelli. Did you know she created a book? It's beautiful, it's awesome, and above all, it's creative. It has something for everyone from home decor to accessories. That is, if you're looking for something girly. After all, it is titled Girl's World. I spent Avery's last full day of Mother's Morning Out digging into my first project from the book. (Boy am I going to miss large blocks of sewing time this summer.) This is the Josie Dress from the book. The main fabric I used is from the Party Dress line by Mo Bedell, fitting don't you think? The sash fabric is by Lila Tueller.

I knew this was going to run big on Avery, but it probably won't fit until next year. The dress sure does pretty up my mannequin though. My only suggestion for this pattern is to add some light interfacing in the front sash piece. I think it would hold it's shape a bit better, and in my case, hide the darker fabric underneath.
