What a Saturday!

Monday, May 2, 2011

We could not have fit more activities in this past Saturday if we tried. Apparently, the only thing that brings the crowds to Oxford like Ole Miss football is the Double Decker Festival held each year. This was event we didn't want to miss. The early morning started with a run Todd participated in with Avery.

The festival had a great kids area where Avery was determined to get her face painted. Although, I think she thought she would get to do the painting.

I'm not sure about the exact history of the event, but I'm pretty sure the name originated from the double decker bus tours you can take around the city. You can see one of the buses in the background here. It was fun to wonder around the square visiting the food and artists booths.

After naptime, we made the 5 minute drive up the road to Sardis Lake. I really can't believe this is the first time we've done this since moving here. The fishermen were out, so we didn't get the best spot to play, but Avery had a blast filling her buckets. Bella eagerly swam after sticks Todd threw for her too. The water was freezing, so I was happy to stick behind the camera on dry ground.

This was Avery's response to my saying it was time to go.

I'm still dealing with lots of nausea, so there really hasn't been much time for sewing. I hope that changes soon, but for now that all I've got.
