Something is just off for me this week. I don’t know if I just haven’t adjusted to the Monday holiday week or I just have a lot going on. Tandy started a little Mother’s morning out program on Tuesday, and I had this new dress ready to go. Today is now her second day. Not only have I not taken her photo, but she has yet to wear her new dress. I figured if I went ahead and posted a photo of the dress it might actually make it to her room where I might actually remember to put it on her.
As for the details on this dress, it comes from a primarily knit fabric Japanese pattern book: Heart Warming Life Series: Chiisana Onnanoko no Oyafuku (Clothes for Little Girls) by Yuki Araki. It’s a very simple look, but the puff sleeves, ribbon accent, and side pleats add nice details. The bodice fabric is a great small check knit, and the mushroom print woven skirt is Aneela Hoey Walk in the Woods. This book has a couple great patterns that mix knits and wovens which make it fun to mix and match from my stash.
Wish me luck on starting next week at the top of my game. I’ve pretty much written off the rest of this week!
