Pop Overalls–PR&P Season 7, Week 1

Thursday, September 12, 2013

I wasn’t planning on sewing along with Project Run & Play this week. I’m in the middle of a totally different project. Well, as you can see the submissions are due today, and I suddenly had some inspiration to sew something yesterday afternoon. Do they have a support group for this kind of thing!?!?

For week 1 they choose to remix the Oliver+S free Popover Sundress Pattern. From Popover, I bring you Pop Overalls. Cheesy, I know. Sometimes that’s just the form the inspiration takes. I kept the shape of the front of the dress the same, but extended the area of contrast fabric and added facing. I also made the arm hole come down further for the overall look. I put a little elastic under the arm holes to make it more fitted.

The back gets a little more interesting where I raised it up. I added angled straps to mimic the overall look.

Tandy wasn’t the most cooperative model for these last minute photos this morning.

So, did you sew along too?
