As thoughts of Santa and presents fill our children’s head this month, I wanted to share some of my favorite ways to remind them of the true reason for the season. I have tried to hunt down this video every year to give as gifts, but it must have had a very limited production. In The Very First Noel, Andy Griffith is the voice behind the narrator as one of the wise men. Everything about this video is beautiful from the animation to the unique music. PLEASE watch it with your children!!!
This year I also purchased the e-book, Truth in the Tinsel. The book is set up with scripture lessons for each day and a coordinating ornament craft. The crafts are simple with a convenient supply list. Most of the supplies I’ve had on hand, but its been easy to come up with substitutions where I don’t have the requested materials. The whole thing takes about 10 minutes per day, and it’s a great way to spend time together.
The last two suggestions are sweet books about our Savior's birth: Song of the Stars by Sally Lloyd-Jones and Santa’s Favorite Story by Hisako Aoki.
