Hosh Pants and Aster Cardi

Thursday, December 11, 2014

Let me start by saying how blessed I feel to be able to work with Patty Young and participate in blog tours and other testing here. This is all such a privilege that I do not take lightly. Having said that, it has been a while since I sewed something without a deadline and picked patterns just because. I've seen so many others sew up both of these patterns, and I'm glad I finally got the chance!

The Hosh Pants won me over!! I love the skinny leg, flat front, and elastic back. I used a stretch twill from Joann's for these. I'm dying to buy a little of this and a little of this to make more! The only thing that threw me off about the pattern was the lack of length or height sizing. After measuring and comparing, I went with a 3T and added about 1/2". You can tell it is perfect in the photo above. I think, in her attempts to pose, Tandy pulled the pants down a bit in the photo below.

The Aster Cardigan was another great sew. I went with a navy and white striped spandex knit and vintage buttons. I'd love to make a few of these for both my daughters! A solid grey and a bright yellow would be on the top of my list. Cheetah print would be fun here too!

I wanted to post outtakes of this photo shoot with Tandy's strange attempts with posing, but I had too many cute ones to include. Maybe I'll have to post the silly stuff on Facebook. I don't know where she gets this stuff!?!
