Pretty Potent Biscayne Blouse

I finally did it! I made a top that I am completely thrilled to actually wear. I wore it to church on Sunday and received several compliments on it before anyone asked if I made it. I questioned the girl about what made her ask, and she said it was because the fabric was so unique. I call that a win!!

Whew! It is SOOO much easier to be behind the camera instead of in front!

About the top, this is the Biscayne Blouse by Hey June. The fabric is a lovely Rayon Challis from the Pretty Potent line by Anna Maria Horner that I also used here. I made the size medium but curved the waist in a bit at the side seams.

I had to read through the placket instructions a few times to get it right. There is also a sew along with photos that helps a ton although the pattern illustrations are spot on. The front section of the top has some gathering stitches, but they ended up being more like easing stitches for me, so you don't see any gathers in my finished top. The neckband sits so nice and flat. I love it all! There is a nice little fold that covers the button placket. (I'm sure there is a technical term for that!) I may leave that fold out sometime for a slightly different look. I came so close to matching the print across the placket purely by accident.

Now I just need to make a few more!
