Modkid Tessa

It feels good to get another jump start on outfits for the cooler temps that should be just around the corner.

This new Modkid Tessa pattern is perfect for play time or snuggling up on the couch.

I bought these See Kai Run shoes on deep discount at the end of last season. I knew they wouldn't go with everything, but I went for it. I guess one advantage of sewing is searching out the perfect fabrics to create an outfit around an accessory.

Tandy was being a little stinker for this photo shoot, and she thought it was really funny that she wouldn't look at the camera. I think these photos turned out to be some of my favorite despite or maybe because of all that!

Both fabrics are from JoAnn Fabrics. The top is fun quilted knit, and the pants are a space dyed ponte. I want to get the pants fabric in every color. It was wonderful to sew with and a great weight for these pants.

This is the second time I used this mystery green trim from my grandmother for a drawstring. The first was a Linville Romper dress. I never would have guessed that this green would work with such a variety of things. It gives the perfect pop to this outfit.

I guess I should share a bit more about the pattern features. The sweatshirt is a bit of an oversized look with a hi/lo hem. The sleeves are intended to extend down the hand a bit for a relaxed look. The pleat detail at the hem really sets the look apart from a standard sweatshirt.

The jogger pants also feature the pleat detail above the cuffs. The waistband includes both elastic and a drawstring. The inseam pockets and a cropped length complete the style.
