Isa Sweater

Wednesday, May 2, 2018

My latest round of sewing for my daughters has all been with woven fabrics, so I was excited for a chance to switch over to knits for this Isa Sweater and yoga skirt. If you don't follow Isabel, @_beletoile_, you need to NOW! She is always blowing me away with her fantastic fabric combinations and unique photography.

Isabel's latest pattern, the Isa Sweater, combines a comfortable style with a modern color block feature. Tandy has reached for skirts more often lately, so the short sleeved sweater style was perfect for us. I highly recommend checking out the pattern listing for the many variations you can create with this pattern. From dresses to tops with various color blocking opportunities, the Isa pattern can take you through multiple seasons with completely different styles. I must mention the raglan sleeve style as well. As I've said many times, I'm a huge fan.

Everyone who purchases the Isa girl's pattern receives the companion women's pattern for FREE!! Perfect for Mother's Day for those who love to coordinate!

The V bodice detail becomes a bit subtle with a simple turn of the stripes direction. Isabel includes some great tips on getting a nice, sharp point when stitching the V shaped seams.

The skirt is essentially the Modkid Maya. I was running a bit short on fabric, so the result is a tad shorter than the pattern. The aqua fabric is a Laguna knit, but I've lost track of the origin of the stripe fabric.

This combination works equally well for play or church on Sunday.
