Reading, Sewing, and Dessert

Just a few of my favorite things. I feel a bit odd putting a full picture of myself on my blog, but I don't find it odd at all when other people do. I'll try to get over it. Todd snapped this for me before I left for book club last night. We discussed The Shack by William P. Young. I didn't love it, but I didn't hate it either. It definitely will make you think. Please let me know what you thought if you've read it.Well, this is the Cabo Halter. The pattern and fabric are by Amy Butler. I really love this pattern. This is the second time I've sewn it. The first was out of muslin to make sure I liked the fit before I cut into the good stuff. I was a bit scared of the invisible zipper, but the directions were great. For the first one, I used one of those plastic invisible zipper feet, but I found sewing it in with my regular foot much easier. The pattern also has great instructions to help you get the fit you want.
Of course, I almost always bring something sweet to eat to book club. This time it was sopaipilla cheesecake bars. This one is super easy to put together, so you should give it a try.
