Modkid Dakota with Tassels

The Modkid Dakota pattern is one of those that I never tire of sewing. It comes together just right and has such a great shape. On this Pinterest board, I have collected various ideas for different versions of the Dakota I'd love to make. The idea for tassels came from one of those pins.

I posted the tutorial for adding ties and tassels to the Dakota pattern on the Modkid Blog yesterday.

Avery's friends were playing on a playground nearby when we were taking these photos. Needless to say, she was ready to go!

The chambray was something I had in my stash from my great aunt. The colorful fabric is from the new Primavera line Patty Young released with Riley Blake. The fabric will be available later this month I am told. I highly recommend this tile print. The plaids are pretty fun as well!

I think the ties with or without tassels can be worn in a variety of ways like this simple tie here. I wanted to try a bow as well, but Avery nixed that idea. We'll just have to use our imagination.

Still yearning to get to that playground! Don't worry we headed right over. This girl has some serious monkey bar skills!
