Two More Tutus

Monday, March 22, 2010

After sewing up these tutu dresses for a friend's charity organization, she requested two more for her nieces. I was happy to oblige. The first is almost identical to one I made for the charity with Heather Bailey's Pop Daisy fabric. For the second, I used Jennifer Paganelli's Dance with Me fabric. I wasn't sure I liked this fabric for clothing until I saw this cute outfit by Jenny at Sew Pretty Dresses. I knew it would be perfect for the simplicity of this pattern. What little girl wouldn't look adorable in all these ribbons, bows, and tulle?!? I've listed this second dress with the Dance with Me fabric in my etsy shop.

  1. Okay first things first these are so dang cute!!!! Love them! I love that pattern but K girl is a 4/5. Hard to justify the purchase but if she ever makes it bigger, I am ALL OVER it! THEN thank you for such a sweet compliment! THANK YOU! I am so sincere in wanting to inpsire others. You made my day! Makes me want to sew more!

Oh and I was thinking this morning about your Purl Soho experience not being what you expected. I am very curious!

  2. IF you come to New Braunfels let me know. We should meet up at Quilt Haus or maybe have lunch. Before you leave. It would be nice to meet you in person!

  3. OK, those dresses are adorable--but that dressform....seriously...where did you score that baby? love!

  4. Thanks Simone! I found the dress form at the same antique show last year. It was covered with scratches, so I hid them with the vintage patterns and fabric neck. Glad you like it!
