I get pretty excited when Patty Young of Modkid sends me a pattern test request. I just love the way she and her team put together patterns, so it’s always fun to be a small part of the process. The latest pattern, Modkid Reese Party Dress, has great details to give it character but maintains a simplicity when it comes to sewing. So, it’s really great for all levels of sewing ability.
This is view B of the Reese pattern; view A does not include the collar. The v-neck plus the pointed collar give a unique polished look. The cute points are reflected in the side tabs as well. I’m loving the color pop from the blue buttons here.
The other unique aspect is the back closure. The back panels overlap for a cross over effect with a single button at the top. The side tabs gather the dress slightly at the front, then the sash at the back cinches everything in for the perfect silhouette.
Have I mentioned Tandy’s sassy side here lately? She’s got doses of it and she’s only two!
At least it got us laughing this time, and I got one final sweet smile before we called it quits.
The floral print fabric I used is by Dena Designs and the dot fabric is by Tanya Whelan.
The Modkid Reese Party Dress Pattern was released yesterday, so I strongly recommend snatching this one up. I’d love to see a virtual parade of Reese dresses for Easter!!
