Sewing Gifts

Wednesday, May 21, 2014

Mother’s morning out has ended for the summer for Tandy, and Avery is out of school as of this Thursday. Needless to say my dedicated sewing time is taking a serious hit. I’m also party planning for a what hopes to be a super fun 6 year old party. With all that, I thought I’d slip in a post on a couple relatively quick projects I made for gifts.

This pair of knee-length shorts is from the Japanese pattern book Happy Homemade: Sew Chic Kids. It’s a pretty simple pair of shorts with great pocket details. I added a penguin applique for my nephew after he told my SIL that he need Tandy’s penguin dress.

The next skirt was for one of Avery’s friends. It is the Oliver + S Sailboat skirt in a basic denim. Every girl needs a denim skirt, right?

I’ve got some really fun things coming up on the blog schedule, so while my posts may be less frequent, they should be worth the wait. Be sure to follow me on Instagram if you want the behind the scenes party planning action.
