Riley Blake sent me half yard cuts of Patty Young's latest fabric line called Lucy's Garden. Half yard cuts don't always go very far when it comes to apparel sewing, so I had to get creative. I love pairing prints with solids, and I had a couple pretty perfect ones in my stash.
The solids here are Riley Green and Riley Fuchsia from Riley Blake's Confetti Cottons. I know color matching when ordering fabric online can be a challenge, so every suggestion helps!
Lucy's Garden has a fun variety of prints including roosters and deer. I was immediately drawn to the Lucy's Garden Floral in every color range. These are the teal and plum. I have a fun project coming in the red too. Those fan shaped flowers are my favorite!
For Avery's dress, I sewed up the Linville Romper and Dress pattern by Hey June. This is the third Linville Dress I've sewn, so you know it's a pattern worth trying. You can see the others here.
With each dress, I have opted to use the elastic casing and attach a non-functioning bow. I like the contrast and added detail.
I found a bunch of these green flower buttons at the Round Top/Warrenton antique show once, so it is fun to find good uses for them. Elastic hair ties are my favorite notion to reach for when I need a button loop. Time to stock up on more colors!
Tandy's dress is the Modkid Harper. There must be a theme here, since I have sewn the Harper three times as well. You can see those here along with a fun tutorial on making an open back option and a sew along.
I love purple, so I jumped at the chance to incorporate these lavender buttons that highlight the flowers in the fabric print.
