Fall Sewing

Thursday, September 3, 2009

I've been busy at the sewing machine again. I have one more outfit to complete, then I'll be taking a break for a bit. More on that later. Here is Avery in her new ruffle capris. If you remember this, you know I've struggled with this pattern. This time I made the pants by adjusting the pattern using the width for a size 3T and the length for a size 18-24 mo. Keep in mind Avery is almost 15 months. Crazy, but it worked. The fabri is by Patty Young.
This one is a modification of the Simplicity pattern 5118 with Michael Miller and Paula Prass fabrics.
This is the back.
I used the reversible pinafore top again for this one and had each side monogramed. The monogram didn't turn out exactly like I had expected, but that's what I get for trying something like this in Laredo. I went to 4 embroidery shops to have this done. The first two had closed down. The third did not speak English, and the forth barely got by with her English. Lesson learned. The skirt is a free tutorial from Grand Revival Designs. It's a combination of more Michael Miller, Jennifer Paganelli, and Hobby Lobby fabrics.
