Last week Avery suddenly flipped from wanting to be a mermaid for Halloween to wanting a flower costume. It was a good thing I hadn’t started that mermaid. Since I’m filling up my free time working on Tandy’s first birthday party, I made this one as simple as possible. You may even recognize the cape from this garden gnome costume. Talk about simplify!!
It’s a tie between the headband and shoes for our favorite accessory. I’ll have a full tutorial for the headband coming up next. (The headband tutorial can be found here.)
These white shoes weren’t going to make it until next summer, so they got a glitter upgrade. I don’t know a little girl who doesn’t love glitter shoes. Here is a great tutorial for adding glitter to shoes here.
The green leggings Omie found at Gymboree on clearance for $1.24!! I loved the idea of a plain white peasant style dress for layering later on. I used Pink Fig’s Olivia top pattern and lengthened it for a dress. To be honest, I was a bit scared of the days when Avery would have strong opinions about her costumes, but I loved bringing this one to life for her!
