Lately it seems, I have to keep much of my sewing hush, hush until the right time. This little beauty was released last week while I was in Texas, so now I’m a week late. When I first spotted this fabric design, I rushed over to the designer’s website. Isn’t it A.M.A.Z.I.N.G? The collection is called Field Day by Josephine Kimberling It’s both bright and vintage. I love the flowers, cherries, and strawberries, but it was the butterflies that sold me on it. I have mentioned Avery’s love of butterflies here before, right? I really want to redo Avery’s whole room in these prints, but it’s not very practical at the moment.
So, while perusing Josephine Kimberling’s site, I spotted a call for sewers interested in sewing samples for her photo shoots. I sent a quick email her way, and we were quickly working out the details. She was so awesome to work with, and there is just something special about working with another Christian, creative soul!
Back to the sewing, I created the skirt on the left in the photo above. The pattern is Simplicity 4236 in Field Day Floral, Grey. There are more amazing photos by Natalie G. Photography on Josephine Kimberling’s blog. I wish I could just jump in on their picnic! Well, I was paid in fabric, so you will certainly see something more in the future. I’ve got to make it special, so I’ll be searching for the perfect inspiration!
