The Sally Dress

I’m so excited that I can finally spill the beans on this Sally Dress I sewed up last month as a pattern test for Shannon over at luvinthemommyhood! Don’t you just love this vintage look with a few mod twists!?!

I opted for an all over print, but I think a color blocked look or a mix of prints would be fun as well. The fabrics you see here are Chelsea Anderson’s Miss Mod. I’m also eager to try out the bodice in a knit.

Let’s take a closer look at the bodice. First, note what you don’t see. No buttons and no zippers. Yea! Next, notice the nice square neckline and unique shoulder straps. The bodice is fully lined, and Shannon gives you great illustrations for a method that gets all those edges nice and crisp.

And, those jumbo pockets ROCK! I love that you can line the pockets with a coordinating fabric for a little surprise pop of color.

The pockets extend all the way to the hem, so there is plenty of room for favorite treasures!

I can attest to the fact that The Sally Dress pattern has been tested and retested as needed to guarantee a great fit and clear instructions. Avery has picked this dress to wear over and over, so it passes the little girl test as well! The pattern comes with three different sleeve variations as well. Perfect for taking it into the fall!
