Modkid Zoey in Hope Chest

Thursday, May 8, 2014

After working on pattern testing for the Modkid Zoey Summer Ensemble, I knew I’d be sewing more of these classic separates. I love that this goes beyond shorts and tshirts, but gives plenty of casualness for a day of play. And, oh these fabrics!! I love, love the top print from Josephine Kimberling’s Hope Chest line. This is an older print, so if you find it, be sure to snatch it up! I wish I had more! The shorts fabric is Michael Miller’s Petit Point in denim.

For the top, I used the Modkid Zoey view A without the collar and front tie. I just love when my vintage button stash holds the perfect shade. This orange gives the perfect pop of color.

The shorts are view D from the Modkid Zoey pattern with the side patch pockets.

This is becoming a favorite summer basics pattern. I’d love to know if you have any favorite summer patterns you turn to over and over!
