I’m back on track this week with my Valentine inspired look for the Project Run & Play sew along. I though this look was perfect for Valentines day since it incorporated a few of Avery’s favorite things. This is certainly a funky, fun mix of fabrics, but I love it all!
I went with all Euro patterns this time around. The shirt is the Lina pdf pattern, and the skirt is Bizzkids 3424 Summer pattern.
All of the knit fabrics came from Banberry Place. I LOVE the pretty portraits print! I normally don’t buy European knits due to the price, but I loved this one so much I purchased half yard with the last of a wonderful gift certificate. The ribbed knit for the cuffs and bands was a great match.
Let’s talk details. For the bottom ruffle I opted to use 4 layers of tulle.
I trimmed out the shirt bib with some faux knit piping. I should have a mini tutorial for my trick with this accent next week.
I had to show some close ups of this knit to show why it’s a few of Avery’s favorite things. We’ve got candy, crowns, nail polish, tulle, pink, and bows all in one outfit. Couldn’t ask for much more!
One more love-ly detail is the heart topstitch along the pleated gussets at each side of the skirt. I love the pop of pink on the black skirt.
The black dot fabric is Chelsea Anderson’s Miss Mod line. I’m not sure if you can still find it (sweet Jenny Fish shared hers with me), but it is a great creamy white dot instead of a bright white.
